Banana Bread

Hello dears,

This has been a glorious day, the weather has just been perfect!!

My mom picked up some bananas at the grocery store that were over rip for really cheap.  We frost some for smoothies and I put aside four for banana bread.

Photos by my lovely sister Rachel

It turned out quite yummy, I added some extra spices to it, to give it a little kick!!=)

Simple dinner...

Hello dears,

We went out for Chinese for lunch after church today, so we had a YOYO (you're on your own) for dinner.

I made myself an Omelet and Toast.
I added some Oregano and Garlic Powder to the eggs and put Tomatoes and Mozzarella Cheese for the filling.
Homemade Spelt Bread for the toast.
Weird fact about me, I don't normally like butter on my toast.

Enjoy your night!!=)

Midnight baking...!!=)

Hello dear,

Phew, it's been very hot here in Indiana.  But hey, it's better than a cold summer, that's for sure!!

Thursday, my mom, sister Rachel, and myself, met some friends at the blueberry patch to pick some blueberries.  We picked 14 pounds.  Pretty good considering, I didn't pick that much cause I was watching the babies!=)

That night, around 11:30, I decided to bake something.  So I made a Coffee Cake!!

It looks kind of funny, but it tastes quite good.

Angel Food Cake

Hello dearys,

We had a bunch of eggs today, so the perfect time to make an Angel Food Cake!!

It would have been nice to have fresh Strawberries with homemade Whipped Cream.
But it was still yummy plain!=)

Made some Apple Stuffed Chicken Breast, but didn't get a chance to get any pictures.  We ate it too fast!!=)

Also, away from food for a second.

A must see summer film, Inception!!
Saw it at midnight and again on Sunday.  Hoping to see it in I-max!
Would recommend seeing it with young children.
But it's a great film, brilliant story!!

Late birthday dinner...=)

Hello deary dears,

My cousin Ian's birthday was April 3rd, and I told him I'd make him a birthday dinner.
Last night, he got his birthday dinner. =)

There's an Italian restaurant about an hour from where I live called Casa, and we went there one time and Ian got some kind of Seafood Alfredo, and loved the clams in it.

So for his birthday dinner, I made some Clam Sauce!

Had some fresh Parsley from our garden!
Of course the Breadsticks!
Salad is a must=)
Served the sauce of some pasta.

He enjoyed his belated birthday dinner.

Afterwards, we went to see the new film Inception.  A movie totally worth seeing, one of the most brilliant movies ever!!  Super good, really good, very good!!!=)

Enjoy the lovely day!

Sugar Cream Pie Recipe and Bruschetta for a light summer dinner!!

Good day to you all,

Hope you are all enjoying this lovely Sunday afternoon.

Since you all seemed to love my Sugar Cream Pie from my last post, I decided to post the recipe!  I got the recipe originally from our pastor's wife.

Sugar Cream Pie

1 cup sugar
1 stick butter
2 cups milk, divided
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla
1 baked deep pie shell

Combine sugar, butter, and 1 1/2 cups milk in a sauce pan until boiling.  Dissolve cornstarch in remaining 1/2 cup milk until smooth, then add to mixture.  Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until bubbly and thick.  Remove from heat.  Stir in vanilla.  Cool slightly, then pour into baked pie shell.  Sprinkle the top with nutmeg.  Serve when firm.

Last night, it was just my sister and I home for dinner.  So we decided to do a lighter dinner and have Bruschetta.

First off, I made some Spelt French Bread, which turned out wonderful!!

I had made the topping earlier in the day, cause it had to chill for a few hours.

We had a salad that went along with it as well.
It was loads of fun, and super yummy!!

More Pie?=)

Hello all,

Haven't been baking much this week, because...we are out of flour!!
When we buy our flour, we get it in 25 pound bags, so can't just run into town and get some.

But Thursday, we had bible study, so I had to make something.
Luckily, I had a pie crust in the freezer.

Sugar Cream Pie!!

I believe my mother and I are off to get the flour today!!=)

Raspberry Cream Streusel Muffins

Hello all!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend.  I know I sure did=)

Today, muffins just sounded super nice.  So that's what I decided to bake.

This recipe can use either Blueberries or Raspberries, and they are ever good both!!

As you can probably already tell, I love baking with berries.  Especially in the Summertime.  Just a very summery nice thing.

Enjoy the day!!
